International Exchange Programmes

Talent for Governance enables ambitious, young civil servants working for local governments in developing and transitional countries ( country list 2011 will be published soon) to follow an international exchange programme in The Netherlands. The programme consists of participation in a course at The Hague Academy for Local Governance, followed by an internship in a Dutch municipality. Topics of the exchange programmes are for example: citizen participation, municipal management, local economic development, management of natural resources, or the provision of public services like water, health and education.

The exchange programmes last two to three weeks. Talent for Governance pays for travel and accommodation costs, meals and participation fee.    

Are you interested in participating?

If you want to qualify for participation in the International Exchange Programmes, you must be a civil servant working for local government. You are young (37 or younger) and ambitious and you work in one of the countries on our country list ( soon to be published) . You have at least two years of work experience in local governance and will be working there for at least two more years. Your English is fluent. You are able to write a convincing motivation for your partcipation in the programme. Do you recognize yourself? Then do not hesitate and apply for a chance to attend the Talent for Governance programme.
