Network Event: How to get ahead... as a young local civil servant

On the 17th of September 2010 this year's Talent for Governance event "How to get ahead... as a young local civil servant" will be held. Six different nationalities will be present to discuss with you the differences in their countries compared with The Netherlands.

Talents from Albania, Ukraine and Indonesia in The Netherlands for Talent for Governance programme

From 13 June untill 24 June the four young civil servants attented the Talent for Governance programme on 'Local economic Development'. The four Talents; Ivan, Ina, Khrystyna and Zulkifli are the first of eleven young civil servants selected to attend the Talent for Governance programme this year.

Sponsor run raises almost € 1500

a enthusiastic group of Dutch civil servants and other sympathizers supported Talent for Governance by partaking in the City-Pier-City sponsor run initiative. All Talent for Governance athletes completed the City-Pier-City run in The Hague and together raised almost € 1500 for the Talent for Governance scholarship fund.

Talent for Governance Scholarship selection process enters decisive stage

Talent for Governance, the hugely popular scholarship programme of The Hague Academy for Local Governance, has concluded the first stage of its 2010 application process.In the upcoming weeks, the written applications of all qualifying applicants will once again be examined, after which telephone interviews will be conducted with the most promising candidates.

World Youth Meeting for a Sustainable Future

The Italian government and the Regione Puglia will be hosting the “1st World Youth Meeting for a Sustainable Future”, in the context of the initiative “Ni, mondlokaj civitanoj- We, Global Local citizens” (NMC) which seeks to promote sustainable development and youth participation in decision-making at both local and global level.

First Talent for Governance scholarship programme successfully completed

From 20 September until 2 October the Talent for Governance ran its first scholarship programme . Emilia Gjeroska, Thulani Twala and Sylvia Solis Lopez attended the training course ‘How to use the power of your citizens’ the first week. Among others, they followed lectures by international experts, shared experiences from their own municipalities, visited several citizen participation projects in Dutch Municipalities like the Fathers’ centre in the Hague.
